WEEK ONE – FOCUS IS ON PRAISE/THANKSGIVING
FROM HOME AND CROSS-BOARDER MISSION FIELDS
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the Lord our God is holy. Psalm 99:9[NIV]

FRIDAY 1ST Praise God! For the release and subsequent return of our missionary from Kaduna Central DCC who was kidnapped. Thank you for your prayers and support. 

SATURDAY 2ND Appreciate the Lord for raising additional support for the Region, Elder Ibrahim P.A, one of our supporters has upgraded his support from half to full and the Mission committee of Iddah DCC have resolved to support one missionary. 

SUNDAY 3RD Thank God the success and impact of the EMS mission awareness in Yamel DCC, 3 new additional supporters were raised during the awareness. We pray that God will bless and enable them to remain steadfast in their commitments to support missions work. 

NOTE: EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY 

FIRST (1ST) MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS TO BE OBSERVED INTERNATIONALLY AS EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY. THEREFORE, ALL EMS ARMS, MISSIONARIES, OFFICE STAFF, PRAYER PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS SHOULD PLEASE ENDEAVOR TO JOIN THE EMS INTERNATIONAL HEAD OFFICE IN PRAYERS. WE JOIN FAITH AND TRUST GOD IN ONE ACCORD WITH BRETHREN AROUND THE WORLD FOR: 

  • A STEADY AND FRUITFUL GROWTH OF THE WORK OF MISSIONS, 
  • PEACE AND THE SALVATION OF NATIONS, 
  • FOR REVIVAL AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF THE CHURCH. 

OUR COOPERATE PRAYER TIME AT THE HEAD OFFICE IS 8-9AM, 12-1PM, AND 3-4 PM RESPECTIVELY. YOU CAN JOIN US IN PRAYERS WHEREVER YOU MAY BE AT THOSE TIMES OR MAKE OUT TIME OF YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE AS YOU ARE LED BY GOD. PLEASE, ENDEAVOR TO PRAY ALONG AS YOU FAST. 

MONDAY 4TH Thank God for the provision of ₦120,410 during the ECWA Women Conference Zone A, Gombe DCC. After the awareness session by the EMS coordinator on the need of a motorcycle for Wawa station, the money was raised and the motorcycle was purchased praise the Lord! 

TUESDAY 5TH Praise the Lord for opening doors for funds to purchase of a church land and building of a pastorium in Tagwabawa station in Katsina DCC. 

WEDNESDAY 6TH Praise the Lord for 3 new additional supporters one from Tangale DCC, another from Bore DCC and the third from Waja DCC. Ask the Lord to bless and open more doors for them. 

THURSDAY 7TH Praise the Lord for the family of Rev. Barnabas Sule from Yobe DCC who organized a seminar for EMS missionaries and their wives in Yobe DCC and subsequently gave each family a financial assistance of ₦10,000. Ask God to bless the family and continue to open more doors for them.

WEEK TWO FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS 

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13 [NIV] 

FRIDAY 8TH CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC The Coronavirus pandemic seems unstoppable it has continued to ravage the world leaving fear, anxiety, death and suffering in its wake. Brethren beseech God to have mercy on the world, intervene in the situation and save his people. 

SATURDAY 9TH ECWA EXECUTIVES (EE) Ask the Lord to grant the ECWA Executives more grace and wisdom as they lead our denomination in these difficult times of the Coronavirus pandemic and the attending disruptions of the global economic and social order. 

SUNDAY 10TH EMS BOARD Pray for all the Board members of EMS OF ECWA, ask the Lord to lead them to do his will even in these turbulent times, that all the decisions they will take be to the glory and honour of God’s name 

MONDAY 11TH EMS MANAGEMENT Ask the Lord to take charge of the affairs of the management of EMS of ECWA. Pray that God will direct the leadership at all levels in decision making and implementation especially in this time of COVID-19 pandemic and economic and financial difficulties. 

TUESDAY 12TH EMS STAFF Pray the entire staff of EMS of ECWA, ask the Lord to protect all our missionaries and other staff in the field, schools, clinics and across borders. Pray that God give them more grace and wisdom and provide for their needs even with the restrictions placed by the authorities in an attempt to contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. 

WEDNESDAY 13TH EMS SUPPORTERS/PARTNERS Praise God for the life of our numerous SUPPORTERS/PARTNERS who despite the downturn of the economy over the years have been relentless in their commitment to support EMS propagate the gospel by praying, giving and even engaging with us in the field. Ask that the Lord bless them and their families. 

THURSDAY 14TH FAR NORTH REGION Pray for our country and the world in general concerning the Coronavirus pandemic. For weeks now church services have not been held in Kastina DCC in an attempt to contain the spread of the disease. Pray for God to intervene in the situation and save the world. 

WEEK THREE FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS 

Hear my prayer, Lord; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly. Psalm 102:1-2[NIV] 

FRIDAY 15TH SOUTH NORTH WEST Thank God for the success of the Iddah DCC missionary outreach that took place between 4-6th of March 2020. Ask the Lord to bless them abundantly and open more doors for them. 

SATURDAY 16TH Praise the Lord for the success of Suleja DCC missionary conference held between 19 to 21st March 2020. Appreciate the Lord for the visit by ECWA Goodnews Gwarimpa to the missionaries they are supporting, Pastor Habila Madaki and Rev. Joseph Azi Izang in their mission stations. They bought doors for Guduwa station and a motorcycle for the EMS coordinator of Suleja DCC Rev. Joseph Azi. 

SUNDAY 17TH NORTH CENTRAL REGION There have been incessant attacks on the Irigwe (Miango) people in Bassa LGA of Plateau state by the Fulani. Some EMS stations in the area have been affected, pray that the Lord will bring it to an end in his mighty power. 

MONDAY 18TH SOUTH EAST REGION Pray for the family of Rev. Sunday Danladi who lost their child, and for the wife who is ill, ask the Lord to heal her and comfort the family. 

TUESDAY 19TH MID-EAST REGION Pray for God’s comfort to ECWA 4 Akwanga who lost their pastor and four members as a result of a motor accident. Ask the Lord for open doors for funds needed to complete various projects in the Region especially the church building at Endehu in Akwanga DCC

WEDNESDAY 20TH FAR NORTH WEST Praise God for the successful transfer of missionaries from Sokoto DCC to Kebbi/Zuru area. Pray for the family of Pastor Mathew who are ill. Ask the Lord to stretch forth his hands and heal them. 

THURSDAY 21ST There is a crucial need for more supporters and donors in the Far North West Region ask the Lord to raise people who will make sacrifices for the progress of missions work in the Region 

FRIDAY 22ND MID-CENTRAL REGION Pray that God will heal Mrs. Abubakar Yahaya and some of our staff that have health challenges which is hindrance to putting in their best in ministry. Ask the Lord to comfort the family of Rev. Ibrahim Garba and Rev. Ishaku Garba who have both been bereaved of their loved ones. 

SATURDAY 23RD Pray for open doors for Manchock DCC, because of financial difficulties staff salaries have not been paid for 12 months. Ask the Lord to raise supporters that will support the work of EMS in the DCC. 

WEEK FOUR FOCUS ON CROSS-BORDERS MISSION FIELDS 

SUNDAY 24TH CROSS BORDERS CRITICAL NEED EMS is still trusting God for the sum of about N854M that is urgently needed for various critical Cross Borders Projects. Ask God to open doors for this funds to be raised so that this projects will be kick- started. 

MONDAY 25TH Pray that our missionaries involved in Cross-Borders missions will be filled with the Holy Spirit so that they will be encouraged to stand firm and fulfill the great commission even in the midst of the turmoil created by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

TUESDAY 26TH Pray for the breaking forth of revival in our Cross Borders Fields, that the power of God will be manifested mightily through the ministry of EMS of ECWA in these countries. 

WEDNESDAY 27TH BENIN REPUBLIC Pray for Pastor the family of Pastor Jacob Benjamin in the Republic of Benin Ask the Lord to give them wisdom and grace in this uncharted phase of their ministry in order for them to be effective. 

THURSDAY 28TH NIGER REPUBLIC Pray for the peace of Niger Republic, there have been series of violent attacks in Tillaberi, where there are two EMS mission stations; Torodi and Fanoma as it is now the use of motorcycles have been restricted. Pray for normalcy to return to these areas Remember to pray for the Covid- 19. For “a little talk with Jesus can make things alright”. 

FRIDAY 29TH ECWA CHAD REPUBLIC Pray for open doors towards meeting different missionaries’ needs in Chad Republic. There are urgent need of nine motorcycles for district coordinators and the national supervisor in Chad Republic, there is need for water in some mission stations in Chad Republic this is very critical. Pray for open doors towards meeting these needs please. 

SATURDAY 30TH MALI Pray for the humanitarian crisis in Mali, we are trusting God for 5,000 bags of grains provision project among the 21 Dogon and Fulani villages where there was drought and the communal crisis prevented many from cultivating their farms last year, the same thing is happening again. Pray for peace in Mali, the one that only comes from Jesus Christ. 

SUNDAY 31ST ECWA TOGO Pray for God’s providence for the needs of EMS of ECWA Togo to enable them acquire church lands in Zanguera ₦7.5m, Notse N3m, and University N20m. These places are the main towns that we need to capture with the gospel as a matter of urgency. 

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING WITH US THROUGH THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU RICHLY AND INCREASE YOUR FAITH IN JESUS NAME, PLEASE LET US CONTINUE TO PRAY WITHOUT CEASING FOR GOD’S INTERVENTION CONCERNING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

Rev. Simon Yako is the EMS of ECWA Director. Rev. and Mrs. Simon Yako were the first couple to be sent to Togo, both graduates of Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS). They both started work with EMS of ECWA as volunteer workers in 1985, and were formally engaged as EMS Missionaries three years later on July 6th 1988. On their initial engagement, they were sent to a home Mission in Ibil, Cross Rivers State in Nigeria.
