 EMS FAMILY: PRAISES AND THANKSGIVING

1st JUNE

Praise God for all the amazing things He has for EMS through last month. Thank God for journey mercies, successful meetings, programs, consultations etc. Thank Him especially for our faithful prayer partners, supporters, donors and all those who contributed in one way or the other to the success story of EMS. Please take time to commit the whole month of June into God’s unfailing hands. 

 

BEREAVEMENT

2nd JUNE

The entire ECWA family lost a rare gem, late Professor Cornelius Olowola; a former ECWA President and was buried on the 24th of last month. Please pray for comfort for the entire ECWA and most especially for the immediate members of his family. Also pray for comfort for all ECWA members worldwide who lost their beloved ones.

 

ECWA EXECUTIVE 

3rd JUNE

Any decision that the ECWA Executive takes affects millions of lives. Please pray for God’s wisdom for all the members of the ECWA Executive. Also pray for their safety and journey mercies as they transverse the length and breadth of the globe in the services of our Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray also for members of their immediate families. As you pray, remember to specifically mention them by names:  Rev. (Dr.) Jeremiah Gado (ECWA President); Rev. Yakubu Hassan (ECWA Vice President), Rev. Prof. Samuel W. Kunhiyop (ECWA General Secretary) and Rev. Eliazer Baba (ECWA Assistant General Secretary).

 

EMS DIRECTOR 

4th JUNE

At about the middle of last month, friends and well-wishers of the Director of EMS, Rev. Stephen Panya Baba joined him and the entire members of his family in thanking God for allowing him to clock the golden age. Please keep thanking God for the life of Reverend Stephen. Pray for him for God’s guidance, wisdom and grace as he pilots this odious task of taking EMS to where it ought to be. Pray for journey mercies for all his numerous travels. Also thank God and pray for his ever supportive wife and children.

Please pray for the entire staff of the EMS HQTRS. Pray for their spouses, Children and loved ones. Remember to commit their various needs into Jehovah, our provider.

 

EMS FIELD MISSIONARIES

7th JUNE

In these days of insecurity across the nation and beyond, our field missionaries are exposed to lots of dangers. Also, so many of them serve in regions that are very hostile to the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Others are being daily confronted with power encounters of witchcraft, cultism and other demonic attacks. Please commit these EMS foot soldiers into God’s hands. Without their toils day and night, there would be no EMS.

 

EMS SCHOOLS 

 8th JUNE

EMS has schools scattered all across the Country to meet the educational needs of Missionaries’ Children and others. Thank God for the life of the Coordinator of the EMS schools, Rev. (Dr.) Bakari I. Bunga and his wife, Lami. Currently, Mrs. Bakari is pursuing her PhD program in the U. S. A. Pray for them as they spend their lives with these children, training them up in the way they should go. Also pray for these school children, committing their various needs and the needs of the schools into God’s hands. Take time to also pray for all the Staff of the EMS schools. Pray also for all the supporters of these schools.

 

EMS WORLD PRAYER AND RETREAT CENTER

9th JUNE

Rev. (Dr.) Neung Lee and his wife, Mrs. Jaeok are Korean Missionaries who have been working with the EMS for decades.  They are in charge of the EMS World Prayer and Retreat Center. Thank God for the lives of these godly couple and for what God is using them to do in Nigeria. Pray for them, the World Prayer and Retreat Center and the school Children in the Center. Pray for the various needs of this couple, the children and the center.  Take time to also pray for all the Staff of the center.   

 

CROSS BORDERS MISSION

10th JUNE

Rev. Simon Yako coordinates this unit. Commit him and the entire members of his family into God’s hand.

Thank God that the Cross Borders Missions is receiving a serious attention from ECWA Executive.  Pray for ECWA Ministers, members and friends to catch this vision of the evangelization of the world before the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise the LORD for what He is doing at Ecole Biblique Sogangao. The school has over 40 students mostly from the other faith.

 

CITY MINISTRIES

11th JUNE

Rev. Monday Zock Coordinates the EMS City Ministries. Thank God for Monday and his family for what God is using them to do. Take time to also pray for all the Staff of the City Ministries. Also pray for their supporters.

 Thank God for members of the Great Commission Movement (GCM) from Barkin Ladi that spent a weekend at Gyero center and took the responsibility of feeding 124 children for two days. They also presented gift items.

Thank God for Abba Father Hope Initiative (Abba Father Assembly Old Airport Junction Plateau State) who have come to the aid of city ministries in various ways including cash gifts, sinking of bore hole etc.

 

Praise God for the progress at different centers of City ministries and pray for the plan to make  all the centers self suataining.

 

MID-CENTRAL REGION

12th JUNE

Rev. Ishaku D. Katuri is the coordinator for this region. Commit Rev. Katuri, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands. Thank God for an answered prayer in terms of payment of salaries of all the missionaries in this region.

Kagoro DCC provided an office accommodation for the Regional Coordinator. Praise God for this wonderful blessing.  

Thank God for averting a major religious conflict between the Christians and the Muslims at Maganda where late Bulus Ma’an served. His son was at the center of the entire ugly incident. Pray for some of our missionaries who have been transferred from their stations as a result of religious attacks.

 

NORTH WEST REGION

13th JUNE

Rev. Gambo Ayuba coordinates this region. Commit Rev. Ayuba, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.

Thank God for an answered prayer in terms of payment of salaries of all the missionaries in this region.  Thank God for three new supporters. Also thank God for new small donors from Fadan Kagoma, Kubacha, and Katari DCCs.

Thank God for the success of the mission work in our region. Praise God for the safe delivery of one of our Missionary’s wives, Pastor Danjuma. Thank God for a relative peace in this region during the past month.

 

NORTH-EAST REGION

14th JUNE

Rev. Zakka Ma’aji coordinates this region. Commit Rev. Ma’aji, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.    

Praise God for the success of the regional conference that took place in the month of April, 2013. Thank God for sparing the lives of our missionaries in this region amidst religious/communal clashes. Pray that the challenges in this region will serve as a turning point to the unbelievers. Pray for the converts won to His kingdom, for God’s direction in their lives.

 

FAR NORTH REGION

15th JUNE

Rev. Abdulkarim Danjuma coordinates this region. Commit Rev. Danjuma, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.

Thank God for 225 that accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and also for 55 people that amended their ways right with God during the month of April.

Thank God for Mama Fibi Choji. She built four blocks of class rooms for EMS literacy Centre at Gidan Makeri Sokoto DCC. Praise God for two pastoriums that have been built at Yargabas and Gidan Damo in Katsina DCC. Praise God for Binta Halilu who is now at Zaria again. Pray that God will provide motorcycles for Danazumi Barau and Yakubu Ali.

 

SOUTH WEST REGION

16th JUNE

Pastor Job Monday coordinates this region. Commit Pastor Job Monday, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.

Thank God for the successful wedding ceremony of one of our Missionaries, Pastor Sola Oladele on 20th April. 2013. Pray for the success of the retreat that will come up later this month. Pray for the outreach that will take place at Ayila. Pray for the supporters in the region and also for God to raise more supporters.

 

CENTRAL REGION

17th JUNE

Rev. Yohanna Turba coordinates this region. Commit Rev. Turba, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.

 

Praise God for three new supporters from Kwali, Suleja and Shiroro DCCs. Pray for Rev. La’azarus who will soon leave for Malawi as a Cross Borders Missionary to that Country. Pray also for Dauda Iliya. Pray for Munape and Boko primary schools for more blocks of class rooms.  Pray for Mrs. Ahmadu Musa in Minna DCC who is sick. Praise God for the 22 people who gave their lives to Christ and those that rededicated their lives to God during an outreach to Kwali DCC. 

 

SOUTH EAST REGION

18th JUNE

Pastor Egelonu Obinali coordinates this region. Commit Pastor Egelonu, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands Thank God for 71 people who heard the gospel this month.

Thank God for the success of this years’ Mission Week in this region. Thank God for the success of Rev. Akpan’s retirement service. Thank God for a successful outreach to Eket. Thank God for the success of the coordinators’ seminar.

Pray for the 71 people that heard the gospel that God’s Spirit will convict them. Pray for the 10 people that gave their lives to Christ that they will be firmly established.

Pray for God to raise more supporters in this region. Continue to pray for our missionaries for God’s encouragement. Pray that God will provide the Regional Coordinator with accommodation in Umuahia.

 

NORTH CENTRAL REGION

19th JUNE

Rev. Gana Danladi Slash coordinates this region. Commit Rev. Slash, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.

Thank God for the gradual return of peace to this region.

Our Missionary, Rev. Dachung Pam lost his wife. Pray for God’s comfort for the family.  Thank God for Bukuru DCC and others that fully participated during the funeral service.

Pastor Davou’s 14 year old daughter was raped by a Fulani man and their lives were threatened. They have been relocated. Please pray for this family.

Praise God for a successful outreach with Jos DCC to Yelwa DCC (Walnim) in April. Over 2,371 gave their lives to Christ.  Thank God for a successful Missions awareness to Jos DCC on Sunday 26 of May, 2013. Pray that God will raise more supporters.

 

MID EAST REGION

20th JUNE

Rev. Adamu Dutse coordinates this region. Commit Rev. Dutse, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this region into God’s hands.

 

Thank God for a gradual return of peace to Nasarawa State. Thank God also for the situation at Makurdi. In Nasarawa DCC Pastor Hananiya Monday, Thomas Garba and Pastor Abednego Yohanna fled from the invading killer Fulanis to Mararraba Udege. Please continue to pray for them and the people in Nasarawa State for a peaceful co-existence.

 

 

FULANI RADIO MINISTRY

21st JUNE

Rev. Shaaibu Idris coordinates this unit. Commit Rev. Idris, his entire family members and all the EMS Missionaries and supporters in this unit into God’s hands. Praise the Lord for the successful wedding ceremony of his daughter, Miss Sarah Idris Shaaibu on the 11th May, 2013 in Benin Republic. Pray for the new couple. Pray for the Radio ministry. Pray for the Fulfulde and Hausa broadcast in Magaria Niger Republic. Pray for God’s provision of materials for the Fulani Ministry.

 

SPORTS FRIENDS

22nd JUNE

Rev. Emmanuel Ali coordinates this unit. Commit Rev. Ali, his entire family members and all the sports friends into God’s hands.

 

EMS RETIREES

23rd JUNE

So many people have faithfully served God as EMS missionaries and are now retired. Pray for them and members of their families. Pray also for resources for the head office to be faithfully paying their retirement benefits and gratuities.

 

EMS WIDOWS/WIDOWERS AND ORPPHANS

24th JUNE

Pray for these precious God’s children who have lost their loved ones and their bread winners. Pray for comfort and for divine provisions for their needs. Pray against loneliness and despair. Pray against lustful thoughts and against advances and temptations from people of the opposite sex.

 

EMS PRAYER AND PROMOTION UNIT

25th JUNE

Dr. Elijah Ipole coordinates this unit. Commit Ipole, his entire family members and all the Staff of this unit into God’s hands. This unit is particularly saddled with the responsibility of challenging brethren to pray for world missions and to also promote the missions work globally. Pray that all the literary materials that will emerge from this unit would minister to those that come across them.

The EMS has set aside today as a day of prayer and fasting. Please join the EMS family worldwide to fast today and intercede for all our missionaries and their supporters and the work.

 

SIM AND OTHER MINISTRIES

27th JUNE

Praise God for a good working relationship between the SIM and EMS. Over the years, God has immensely used the SIM to promote the work of EMS. Pray for the SIM Director and the entire SIM Staff in Nigeria. Pray especially for Rev. Bill Foute whom God has immensely used to serve Him through the EMS.

Pray for other mission agencies within Nigeria and beyond.

 

NIGERIA

28th JUNE

Take time today to pray for Nigeria. Pray for the President, Rev. (Dr.) Goodluck Jonathan and all those in leadership authority. Pray for the general insecurity situation and the determination of the Federal Government to restore peace and order.

Pray for the body of Christ in Nigeria to live up to its responsibility as the light of the world.

 

EMS FAITHFUL SUPPORTERS

29th JUNE

Over the years, God has raised men and women to support His work through the EMS. These people pray; they give sacrificially; some of them go on short term mission trips. Thank God for the lives of these God’s vessels. Pray for God’s blessings upon their lives. Pray that as the pray, give and go, they will never suffer lack and deprivation.

 

LOOKING AHEAD

 30th JUNE

Thank God for seeing us through to the end of the month of May. Thank Him for all the answered prayers. Commit the incoming month into His hands. Pray and ask God to “teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” ( Ps 90:12).

    • I’ve passed your request to the person that knows the location of ECWA Church in Benin Republic and they will be getting in touch with you via email. At the moment, more than 1,200 missionaries are working in Nigeria, Benin Republic, Cameroun, Chad, Ghana, Niger Republic and Togo. Some of the main aims of EMS are:

      cross-cultural evangelism
      church planting among the unreached
      discipling and training members to reproduce other disciples
      EMS works in partnership and cooperation with other evangelical groups in receiving and sending out missionaries, as well as in research and training.
