“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matt. 7:7.

Ask And It Shall Be Given (Gospel Light)

One of the greatest privileges known to man is the access we have to God. As our Creator we dare not come to Him without Him summoning us first; but as our Father, we have the liberty to come to Him anytime. Jesus Christ admonishes us to Ask, Seek and Knock because of the relationship we have with the Father. The verbs: Ask, Seek and Knock as they relate to prayer can be interpreted in several ways.

  1. They are a progression of prayer where asking is the simplest form; seeking is a more aggressive approach and knocking is a bold and desperate situation.
  2. The verbs may also just be an expression of different areas of need. We can ask for healing; we can seek for wisdom and we can knock at closed doors of opportunities to be opened.

Either way we have an open invitation to ask, seek and knock and what we do with it is up to us. God gave king Solomon a blank check just as He has given us today and Solomon asked for wisdom to be a good leader which was his calling. If you have figured out God’s call for your life, then like Solomon ask, seek and knock for things that will help you fulfill your calling. When you do that, God will throw in a bunch of bonuses you never asked for.
